If you search for the Enneagram online, you’ll find numerous tests out there. In our experience, the tests are only ever 66% accurate since you are a dynamic and unique person.
We’ve created a different kind of exercise. You get to rate how much each of the 9 energies describes you; after all, you have all 9 of them within you. From there, you can rank all 9 from top to bottom.
As you get to know the Enneagram more, you’ll likely revisit your ranking and adjust it a few times until it fully represents you.

READ EXTENDED DESCRIPTIONS
The best way to know if your top energy truly fits is to read more on it. If you find that it “half fits” or “almost fits” then it’s often a sign to revisit your ranking.
You can read short descriptions in the carousel above. If you’re craving a deeper view, we recommend the resources from the EnneagramInstitute.com or the book The Wisdom of the Enneagram.
DETERMINE YOUR WING
Now we’re starting to get into terminology. Your Enneagram wing is the next strongest energy that sits beside your core energy on the chart. For example, if your core energy is 3, then your wing would either be “3 wing 2” or “3 wing 4”. For someone with 8 energy as their top, their wing would either be “8 wing 7” or “8 wing 9”.
Hint: Check out your ranking exercise to see which of your 2 wings was higher rated/ranked.
